Hi everybody. My name is Debra and I have finally come clean with myself about the fact the I love the art of being a homemaker. When I was a teenager and early twenties I would have never imagined that my career in life should have been along the lines of home economics. I just LOVE making my house a home. A wrecked home at times but none the less a home. The joy and satisfaction I get out of cooking a meal from scratch, or cuddling up with a blanket that was knitted or crocheted, or even the sense of achievement when scrubbing the toilet and bathtub gives me great joy. I would like to use this blog sort of like a household notebook. A way of recording what I do in my home and life on a daily basis (or as close to daily as I can get. LOL). I would like to think of myself as a cross between June Cleaver and Nigella Lawson. They are very inspirational to me. So to start things off here is a record of what I did today.

  1. Washed and hung clothes out to dry

  2. Started a crockpot of potato soup (will post recipe later)

  3. Stripped beds and washed bed linens

  4. Swept and vaccumed floors

  5. Cut out and sewed up a valance for my kitchen window (white fabric with cherries! WOOHOO! I love cherries!)

  6. Went to the grocery

  7. Made a lunch of grilled cheese and ham sandwiches and cut up fresh fruit

  8. Made a pan of Broccoli Cornbread (will post recipe later)

  9. Made a Creamy Banana Pudding (will post recipe later)

  10. Washed dishes (pretty much all day! LOL)

  11. Watched Pirates of the Caribbean with my son (He's 4 and loves Jack Sparrow)

  12. Remade beds

  13. Read and replied to emails

  14. Ordered more rental dvds online (It is a brilliant thing getting dvd rentals in your mailbox. There is never a late fee with the company I'm with and I don't have to worry about running up to the video store before my movies are late and I'm charged.)

  15. Finally had a moment to set up this blog...hope y'all enjoy!
